King and queen of Thailand both tested positive for COVID-19
The royal palace in Thailand announced on Saturday that the country's king and queen have tested positive for COVID-19 but are currently only experiencing minor symptoms.
According to a statement from the Royal Household Bureau, doctors advised treatment for King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 70, and Queen Suthida, 44, and asked that they temporarily abstain from their duties.
The statement claimed that their symptoms were "very mild.".
The couple paid a visit to Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol earlier on Friday and Thursday at Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok, where she was admitted after going into cardiac arrest on Wednesday.
