"Mexico's Shocking Collapse Against Panama in Thrilling Caribbean Series 2024 | Marca"

Mexico suffered its third loss in the 2024 Caribbean Series on Saturday, falling 3-4 to Panama despite leading 3-1 heading into the ninth inning of the game.
The top of the first inning saw Mexico take the lead with a Bobby Bradley hit, which led to Roberto Valenzuela scoring the opening run. The response from Panama came in the second inning with a home run by Johnny Santos at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.
It was not until the top of the fifth inning when Mexico regained the lead. First, Bradley connected another hit to put two men on the corners with two outs.
Then, Agustin Murillo surprised with a bunt and Valenzuela took advantage of it to reach the register and put the lead at 2-1 in a very tight duel.
The third run came courtesy of Aaron Altherr's deep drive to center field to make it 3-1 in the top of the ninth inning.
To close the game, Luis Márquez replaced Elkin Alcalá and then Jake Sánchez followed Márquez on the mound as pitcher for Mexico.
Panama scored Christian Bethancourt with a grounder to third base to stay alive and make it 3-2 at the home of the Miami Marlins in Major League Baseball.
